Default 3rd row seats

Hi everyone,
I'm thinking of purchasing a 2009 Outlander XLS in a few months, and I have a question about the 3rd row seats. I have no need for these extra seats, and would probably remove them permanently. Has anyone already done this? Is there any usable cargo space that can be utilized? Thanks.

They fold flat into the floor so you're really not gaining any cargo spaceexcept for the small recessed area where they would go. Probably less hassle to just leave them in.

I saw on some forum that people removed it and used this space for instruments, distilled water and other car staff.
As well, Mitsubishi offers hard cover for this place as an additional accessory.

If you really don't want the 3rd row, I'd try and find a fully loaded 08 LS with the V6. I just bought an 08 XLS to take advantage of the 0% financing.

yeah I ended up getting an 07 LS instead of the XLS because I did not want the seats. Added leather and a few other things and am happy. Miss auto climate control, fog lights, blutooth and power seats

There are people that took out the 3rd row seats and put the tray in there instead. I bought it with the 3rd row and I have never used them in 2 years now. I didnt want them but I wanted the HID lights and sun and sound all the other goodies. No one could find one with out the 3rd row seating so I just bought it.

I really like the FAST key, V6, Bluetooth, and the warranty.Plus the Nav. system allows you (or your passenger) to program it while driving. It seems that too many cars now try to limit what you can do while the car is moving. No vehicle is perfect, and each one has advantages and disadvantages. Overall the Outlander seems like a good package. I don't know of any other SUV in this price range that has all these features. I'll probably visit some dealers in a couple of months. Thanks for the input.
