Question Air Con Leak in the vents

I have a 2014 Outlander Diesel. A leak was found in the air con system and the dealer replaced some hoses at full dealer prices. The air con still leaked out after a few days. They then said it was the condenser. I had that work done at a local garage and then had the system tested and recharged. It leaked again after a few days. When charged I can hear a hissing at the centre vents on the dash board. All pipes and seals have been replaced except for anything behind the dash. Before I get the mechanic to remove the dash and look for a leak there can anyone tell me if there is an air con connection point or pipe behind the dash?

Yes the evaporator lives there. If you turn on your face vents and fan at full blast you might get a puff of gas in your face. This is a sign of leaking evaporator

I have exactly the same issue. Bought a 2015 outlander and found the A/C didn't work so didn't know the history of the A/C. Got a garage to hook up their machine and they pulled a vacuum successfully for the required amount of time then changed with refrigerant. All seemed ok, drove it for 10 minutes or so and parked up for 5 minutes and when I went back and opened the door was met with a cloud of gas. Could actually see it coming out of the air vents in the dash. Did you find the problem or does anyone have a guide for removing the dash.

The cause will be a leaking evaporator.
