350 becuase thats the lowest my oven goes. You said 200 for 5 to 10 mins.... I did it for 2 or 3 mins tops. It was only in there long enough to warm the glue. It wasnt like I put them in there and went to take a nap. Ill post the pics when I find them to show you the house didnt burn down.

what happens similar to cooking a steak(mmm... steak)is that the high temp only penetrates the outside of the silicone and doesnt allow the silicone in the middle t warm up and become more pliable.

just saying that yours was based on luck, not as much technique. etc. I believe you completly, thank you for offering up the pics!

I also did my eclipse headlights and never had a problem.
I didnt use an oven I just used a hair dryer.
Took forever but it worked really well and made me feel comfortable doing it slowly.

HAHA you cant compare a solid piece of meat to hollow head lights. I have a couple pictures nothing great, it was all I could find. But when you heat something like plastic, its going to give that heat off to other things that its touching like the glue in the seam. I did 2 head lights like this with out a single problem. Notice the oven gloves by the way.

it actually really is an exact comparison to steak by comparison.

I know my post count is low on mitsuforums (dont know why musta reset) but you can find me on dsmtalk, dsmtuners, hidplanet for my hid retrofitting work, I have done 2x 2gA like yours, 3x 2gB's, 5-6x+GSXRs, couple of honda's and so on. even then the guy who does most of my retrofittng work for my company follows same procedure and process and has done countless retros.

im not trying to get into a pssingmatch, just saying to other folks looking to open your headlight do it right.

I will be cracking open the headlights in about a month or so on the outlander and doing a retro.
