Default anyone with fuel gauge problems ?

Hi,

I just filled up my XLS with 50ltrs of fuel.....and the gauge at first did not move at all. but then it slowly increased to about 40%... kind of strange since I know the fuel tank is full.

its winter here but it is not that cold, about -6c...

the fuel cap is tight...

I do not know if anyone here experienced such problem....the outie has 8,500km.

tx!

Did you turn the car off when you were fueling?

I've got an 08 Outlander XLS. The very first timeI filled it up (which really would have been at least the 2nd time it was filled up because it had a full tank whenI bought it),I had the same problem. The next time I filled it up, the fuel gauge registered full right away and I haven't had the problem again since then. So, I would say give it a few more fill-ups andsee if the problem just doesn't fix itself. I know that's not that helpful, but it worked for me.

My XLS is fine even with the colder weather we got in Gatineau a few week ago I went to the pump and the gauge went to the full mark no problem.

tx everyone!

the car was stop when I did refuel it....the radio was on because my wife and daughter were waiting in the car...but I always do that, nothing different than usual.

anyway, it fixed itself this morning, started the car it took about 10min and it was full again.... kind of weird (it brings some doubt on the efficacity of that fuel gauge).

cheers!

No problem here, has always filled up the bar graph when full regardless of temperature.

I had the same exact problem last week as well, but after driving a couple miles it went back up. I filled up a couple times since then and that was the only time it happened.

haven't noticed anything on our XLS and I've filled it up several times now when it was cold -20C. The gauge in general seems to be fairly accurate.
