Best Tires for the Outlander
#5
I'm running General Altimax. I think they were recommended elsewhere here when I bought them about 3 years ago. Good treadwear, good performance in snow, and priced right. Just using the stock 18-in. size.

Ive had no issue with the stock Yokohama AVID for the 3 seasons...and Im running Yokohama Ice Guards on my 2017 Lancer for Winter with steel wheels..2.4 Lancer AWC..no issues....Same set up on my 2015 Outlander 2.4 AWC
There are soooo many choices when it comes to tires...I think any solid name brand will do the trick if you are not a speed demon.

Loving my Michelin Premier tires. Had them since last November and have put on about 10 000 km. So far I have been through heavy rain, heavy snow, ice and yes, even dry roads. They are fabulous. Possibly slightly noisier than the stock Yoko's on certain pavement but they track straighter and the steering is more responsive.

My daughter has just purchased a set of these and claims they provide great handling on dry roads and they're not noisy -- unlike her set of Nokain dedicated snow tires that the WRGs have now replaced. She's looking forward to finding out how good a snow tire they are.
Of course these eliminate the need to swap tires or wheel-tire sets each year, which is a royal PIA, IMO. In my book, that's a pretty nice feature.
When our summer and snow tires inevitably have to be replaced, these are the tires I'll be buying.

But they are expensive little buggers, I must say. Still, you don't have that twice/year hasssle.
Here's a vehicle IMO similar to the Outlander supposedly driving through 8" of snow on a set of WRG3 tires.
