i recently bought a used 2007 Mitsubishi outlander
it was dead for a while and needed a new battery.
After replacing
i pressed the voice commands buttons on the steering wheel, it worked for like 1 min then it stopped working.
now when i press the voice commands nothing happens no voice AI no nothing.
i have the touch screen with GPS model. (MMCS)
i also did not see the option for bluetooth yet there is a phone option to dial using the touch screen?? i have no clue whats that for if it does not have bluetooth.
What do i do ?

The module is mounted behind the stereo unit. It never supported musical streaming or file transfer, just phone calls. Unfortunately, the units died at about 6-8 years old. I recently got one for $12 from a junk yard from a recently arrived, minorly damaged Outlander. No go, not even a blip when plugged in. I took it apart and it would take a highly talented electronics repair person to even attempt finding the problem. There are dozens of chips on the board. I really wish someone made a replacement that would still recognize the steering wheel buttons. When it worked it was easy to use. Sorry for the bad news. If you do ever find a solution, please post. Cheers

Sadly I have to agree with Binzd I think it is the module as well
I am the original owner of a 2007 XLS my controls died about 2014.
I should note I did not think it was a fantastic system to begin with.
It lost the bluetooth connection to my phone way more than it should, I had to reset it a bunch of times.
It was only for bluetooth calls
You had to add in contacts to the vehicle system
Since the module did not support Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) streaming was not possible.
I did take the module out once and then pluged it back in and it worked for a few months then kaput again, the time required to do that prevented me from doing it again.
I have Sun & Sound without nav screen
