Unhappy Brake calipers

Hello,

I have a question for Outlander owners, especially those from 2007-2010. Do you have any issues with braking power, overheating, or the pads wearing non-uniformly?
Also, has anybody tried swapping the brakes from stock to better car assembly brakes, aftermarket brakes, other Mitsubishi models, or even other car brands? Because those one-piston brakes on my 3.0L V6 Outlander seem insufficient, and in comparison with other cars, it basically doesn't stop as it should. Or is it just very old calipers and need restoration?

Thanks for any help!

I've just installed Ferrodo's break pads on my 2008 Outlander. It was actually very easy and works just fine. My car is the 2.4 lit with 162000km on the clock.

Astral, yes you could possibly do with a good clean up and replace seals on the existing callipers to start with or even just replace the brake fluid. Its up to you if you want to upgrade the callipers but remember the OEM units were deemed up to the job when you car was built. Depends on the market but often the larger engine models were given better brakes in the 1st place. The outlander is not a sports car and is well braked as standard I believe. My current V6 is on 270,000km still with original brakes (pads changed of course in that time)
