Default Bug in Climate control in 2007 Outie?

I've discovered this awhile ago, but never bothered with it. It's not a big deal, but I am curious if this is by design or actually a bug.

Set temperature to 65, Turn off AC, Turn on Fan all the way and set to Windsheid flow (last one on the right). What happens next is that AC is being blown out of the front vents (AC light is off though), instead of regular airflow. If you move the dialer from windshield to anything else you'll feel regular air flow. Anyone else noticed that?

Thats normal. The "windshield flow" is the "defrost" for the windshield.

The AC blows out dry air, and gets the fog or dew off the windshield.
