Default Cabin Air Filter help

I have just looked over the service manual i downloaded and it seems the diagrams aren't that detailed.

I can reach my hand in there and remove the cover but just can't get the filter out when the glove box is in the way.

I tried to remove the glove box but I just can't? I looked at the bottom and there these 2 screws/clamps? I tried to use a flathead screwdriver and take it out but can't.

How do you remove the glove box?

Do you have a link for the manual you downloaded? Does it cover the '08?

there are two tabs on the box itself, that hook in behind the plastic on each side of the opening and keep the glovebox from falling completely open. you need to push first one side and get it to push past the plastic, then the other side and the glovebox will fall open farther. you can then remove the filter and housing by pulling it towards you(assuming you are in the passenger seat). The filter is exactly the same as on the 2004-2008 toyota sienna and numerous other toyota vehicles. must be one manufacturer in japan that builds these fan/filter units.

I tried to do that with only one side though. The other side got kinda hard to pull down and I don't want to break anything so I only got one hook down but cannot pull out the filter.

SHould i force the other one out hard?

It shouldn't break, I tried it after searching for the FUSE box. Just push to the side and pull glove box towards yourself. Once the first one is out the second one is easy. Just push on the whole side of the glovebox.
