Can the doors auto lock? also bird poop is bad
I was going to ask this in another thread that mentioned options that can be programmed but I cant find it now.
Can the locks be programmed to auto lock by the dealer? I looked through the manual and didnt see anything.
I was also trying to figure out the best way to remove what looks like a hard water stain from a bird poop. It was there when I got back to the park n ride at the airport. I washed it by hand the next day but the marks still there
I figured I would try the bar of clay magic I have but wondered if there was something elseI should do instead.

Not sure about the locks.
As far as the bird poo. It's likely etched the paint. I'd try clay and then something like Meguiar's ScratchX or a similar scrach remover that you can use by hand...if that doesn't work, you'd have to get into an orbital machine and some paint polishes

I uploaded 3 jpegs with a list of functions that can be programmed using a MUT III scan tool.

Thank you very very much. This will allow me to decide which ones and have the dealer do them all at once. Unfortunately it looks like theres no auto lock only auto unlock, which is what I wanted too.

I dont have an acct set up so Im not priveleged enough to see how much it coststo rent one.

Yeah tell me about it. I actually was going to buy one despite the price and then had a hell of a time even trying to get one (not only is the pricing on that website wrong, the contact information is wrong). Here is my scenario:
Calling 1-800 number on PDF brochure to order MUT-III
Ring ring.... ring ring....
SPX: SPX how can I help you?
Me: I'd like to order a tool.
SPX: Certainly, let me transfer you to a salesperson.
SPX sales: How can I help you?
Me: I'd like to order a tool.
SPX: Certainly - do you have a part number?
Me: Sure, its MIT46973-AM-REF.
SPX: Hmmh, we don't have that part number. What kind of tool is it?
Me: It's a Mitsubishi MUT-III scan tool.
SPX: Are you a dealer?
Me: No, just a consumer.
SPX: Well have you talkedto our OTC division? They handle aftermarket sales.
Me: No, I didn't know.
SPX: Let me put you through.
OTC: OTC, how can I help you?
Me: I am loolking to order part number MIT46973-AM-REF.
OTC: Let's see - I can't find that part number in our system. What kind of tool is it?
Me: Its a Mitsubishi scan tool.
OTC: Okay let me check.
OTC: Okay I found the following MIT46973-DLR-REF but I can't sell it to you - it is a restricted item.
Me: Why is it restricted?
OTC: Not sure, let me check with my manager. Have you checked with SPX?
Me: SPX sent me to you!
OTC: Okay, be right back.
OTC: Okay, this part number is for dealer purchase only. I found the other part number you gave me but its pretty expensive.
Me: How much?
OTC: Let's see - looks like $4,950 for the tool and $1,450 for the annual licensing fee.
Me: Okay, can I order it?
OTC: Well, do you have an account?
Me: No, can't I just give you my credit card?
OTC: Uhhm, we don't take credit cards.
Me: Alright, how about I send you a certified check or money order.
OTC: We don't accept those either.
Me: Then how the hell am I supposed to order it?
OTC: You need to go through one of our dealers.
Me: Who are your dealers in Canada?
OTC: Lordco and (can't recall the name of th actual Canadian distributor).
Me: I have had enough trouble getting to this point where I have found the part in your system I need. What do you think my chances are of being successful going through a dealer?
OTC: If you hit a snag, just call me directly on Monday.
Me: Okay, thank-you.
I emailed the Canadian distributor who told me no part existed and then refused to believe me when I supplied all the information to him. He refused to help me any furth. So off to the local Lordco I go.
Lordco Parts Counter:
Lordco: How can I help you.
Me: I need to order a Mitsubishi Scan Tool. It comes from SPX/OTC but it will not be in your system and I need you to go through your head office to get it.
Lordco: What is the part number?
Me: It's MIT46973-AM-REF.
Lordco: It's not in our system.
Me: I already told you that. I need you to go through your head office to get it.
Lordco: Okay let me look into it and I will give you a call. WHat is your phone number?
Me: Alright, but today is Friday and I really need an answer ASAP.
Lordco: No problem, tomorrow is my last day of work soI will call you right back.
Two hours later, my phone rings.
Me: Hello?
Lordco (cell phone on road): It's Dave from Lordco in Vancouver. Steve in our Kamloops store says you are lookinmg for a scan tool.
Me: Yes, it seems you guys are my only hope.
Lordco: Well why can't you just buy one of our generic OTC brand scan tools?
Me (patiently): Uhhm, if that would work, don't you think I would actually do that? The Mits scan tool allows your to reprogram the ECU as well.
Lordco: I see, let me see what I can do and I will get Steve to give you a call.
Me: Alright, but as I understand it, tomorrow is Steve's last day so this kind of needs resolving today.
Lordco: No problem.
Never heard from them again and didn't pursue with OTC again. Some things just aren't meant to be. However, I deal with a really small Mits shop (one mech) and they give me access to their scan tool whenever I need it. Awesome service.

My GFs dad is a mechanic and has this kick *** scanner from snap on. The thing cost him right about 11,000$ US. Its does domestic and imports. Then theres the cost to buy upgrades every year.
