So we've got an agreed upon$30250Cdn (out-the-doorprice) from a dealer about 200km (120miles) away here in Alberta for an LS 4WD with convenience package and I just wanted to check with other Canadians if this is a good price before we drop a deposit or drive there with the cheque. This is inclusive of all fees and taxes. Good enough to drive a couple of hours for? Anything to watch for during delivery? We'll have to drive it back, so is there anything we should be doing during these first break in miles? It's mainly a highway trip. should we take back roads and vary speeds?

My drive back from the city in the north was pretty smooth, just varied the driving a bit and
didn't leave it in cruise for too long. Can't comment on the price as our XLS was hard to
find in AB

I'm pretty sure I'd believe it. Been there and the words: "wonderful", "beautiful", "something to record forever" should never be used.

Did you check the invoice price for the vehicle ($26,065 CAD)? Just do the reverse math and find out how much over the invoice thay are asking for.
I don't know the taxes and fees included in the AB pricing, but here it is an attempt:
OTD price: $30,250
Price before taxes (6% GST): $28,538
Minus A/C tax ($100 CAD): $28,453
Minus Freight/PDI ($1,345+$250=$1595): $26,858
Minus Invoice price ($26,065): $ 793 - THIS IS THE DEALER PROFIT,
unless it includes other local GOV fees, license plates, additional service (accessories installation), or in general, any other third party fees (which the dealer has to pay). If the dealer is charging $250-$300 Administration Fee, I would try to waive it.
Bottom line: I would try to go down to $500 CAD dealer profit which I personally believe it's a decent amount. They make some additional money from Mitsubishi anyway. If you cannot, it's still a decent deal as it's about 3% over invoice.
