hi all,

my 2.4 4wd sport se whines when I begin to move off at slow speeds, it only does this for a few minutes and then stops once I'm warmed up and a few streets away.

It has done 165 000 and has been serviced regularly with the timing belt done last year and brakes done last month,

I'm worried that I don't rectify this it could escalate into something terminal.

Dows anyone have any experience with these symptoms?

when a car is first started, the ecm tests various emissions related components, if you don't have a check engine light then it is possible for a small leak to create a noise that goes away when things expand and / or the car stops trying to test whatever is being noisy and waits for another chance to test when warmed up, thus not triggering the dreaded check engine
