Decided to read a bit more and stop bothering Vad so much with trivial issues that turned out to be mostly Windows 7 and java bugs.
I wanted to clone my disk and fek with that to try the maps and DVD-in-motion. I tried all sorts of IDE HDDs. Looks like there are specific disks that are compatible.
English is all working thanks. Will have to buy another disk before trying to mess with the others bits.

Do you reckon it will be possible anytime soon? Because the person doing it for me is charging $149 NZD, which is a good deal if you cant do it yourself. At least I get to keep my MMCS as well. But don't want to pay this then find out maps are working.

Vadimus - could the J-01 unlocking HD password be different, i have tried the two listed on the "Unlocking HD thread" and none seems to work.
