Got the notice yesterday.
simply states that the parts to do the recall are not yet available, and a new notice will be sent when the parts are available. Then its time to make the appointment at the dealer.

 

I received the same notice yesterday. Mine looks to be in good shape. My 2007 Outlander only has 40k on it and is under carriage washed weekly during the winter and garage kept. I feel safe for now. I will still follow up on the part change.

 

For what years and models ?

 

Yah, I am wonering if my 2006 Outlander qualifies for the crossmember recall ?

Attached is a picture of my 2007 Outlander cross member. Since the recall, do you think I still qualify for the for the recall warranty repair?

 

If you've already had the recall performed....no. if not, very likely you can have it fixed

 

That sux. I brought it to the dealer for inspection several years ago and they said that there was no damage. So if I brought the Outlander to them now from what you state, the dealer would deny the repair. If I sold the Outlander to another party, do ya thing the new buyer would be able to the the repair done under warranty?

 

yeah, when they did it on my outlander, they just gooped the stuff on top of the rust....pretty bad fix/implementation. I do a lot of maintenance myself and I've since feel on top of it....it is crunchy...but no holes...I check any time I'm underneath.

the issue is because the AC drain drips right onto the crossmember. I've affixed a drain tube that relocates it about a foot away and drops directly on the ground.

Find the right mechanic, you could have a used or aftermarket part installed. not sure where you are, but if you have safety inspections, that'd be an immediate fail. I think if I had that on mine...might be time to just scrap it...maybe. cost to repair would be a bit much for what it could be sold. on flip side, new car would be more than cost to replace the part. I've got 252k miles...mine isn't worth anything really.

 

I didnt know there was a recall on it that explains why mines completely shot to crap and falling apart do you know if they will still replace it or did I miss the chance to have it done
