Unhappy CVT Broken pieces found on Oil Pan

Hello, hope you guys can help me with an issue. I just replaced the CVT oil in my 2018 Outlander SE and found some broken pieces in the pan (see photo attached). The mecanic said they are from the cvt chain and it need to be replaced. Looking the pieces I highly doubt they are from the cvt chain (they are not the same shape), I guess maybe they are from one of the ring clutches but I not really sure. Currently, the transmission works fine, no sounds, no vibration, no sliping.
Do you have any clue what may be broken? If there are no symptoms, Do I really need to take the transmission down and open it?
Thank you.
