Dealer put 10W-30 in my Outie

I used that free 27-point inspection coupon that many of us got a few months ago the other day at my Mitsubishi dealer. I decided that I might as well get my oil changed at the same time by them while my car was tied up there (it was $40, same as if I went to Jiffy Lube). I get back home and check the service order, and it turns out they put 10w-30 in for my oil! It says right in the manual that the Outie should be using 5W-20! How could the freaking dealer not know what type of oil to put in it's own brand of cars????
I'm planning on going back to the dealer to have them redo their mistake, but otherwise, is having 10W-30 in my Outie going to be bad? Should I just continue to use it since I run into this problem every time someone changes the oil in my car?

the only difference you would notice is that in a colder temp the oil will be more sluggish. not that you would even notice it. i live in canadian mountians and thru the winter people run nearly anything and its all good. the difference wont hurt you at your elevation and temperature. its actually a little better for a hotter climate.

Cool. Thanks guys.
On another note, Mitsubishi called me tonight for a survey about my service and I let them know it was not good on a number of counts, this being one of them (they should have communicated this with me).

Been discussed in length a couple of times. IMO, I would go with what the manual say. It might be OK and wont be necessary to have it changed for now, but I would make sure in the next oil change they do the right thing. Things like those should really be disclosed to the customer. For me, I didnt wait for the service manager to tell me, I actually asked him what weight they use for oil changes and good enough he knew what is recommended for the Outlander.

10w30 is the cheapest weight to buy in bulk...that's why places use it.
I think one should expect the dealer to follow manufacturer recommendations.
But yeah..you'll be fine since you're in San Jose..gas mileage might go down a little..
