Default Dealer put 5 quarts ok?

Is it ok for the 07 outtie to have 5 qts of oil? I just checked the manual again it it suppose to be 4.2-4.5 quarts? Nothing will happen right? I sometimes step the pedal to the metal on the freeway at times and that consumes oil.

Too much oil can be bad. I dont know if 1/2 a quart can cause damage.

I'd guess that they just rounded up to 5 quarts when they told you. If they used individual quarts, they'd have to buy 5 of them

Check the dipstick and see if it's way over the line.

You got to wait a few hours to check the dip stick. After it sits for a\while then check it. It has to be the hardest to read dipstick I have ever used.

Flooring it does not consume oil. If it does you have a problem.

are you sure your checking it right? As antlip said its a very hard to read dipstick because it scrapes the oil out of its tube on the way out and makes it look higher.

Do as he said let it sit wipe then read and see how it looks. You would think the dealer would have a handle on things but its usually the mechanics in training that do the oil changes.

You could call the dealer, but they'd probably just say it's OK.

If you wanted to take a half quart out, I think they make an apparatus that sucks out oil through the dipstick tube or filler hole..

or you could build something like that from handy parts around the house... a piece of tubing that fits down the dipstick, an old used coffee can and your handy vacuum cleaner(shopvac works best). Just cut a small hole for the tubing in the lid of the coffee can, trying to maintain air tightness between the tube and the hole. cut another bigger hole in the lid that is smaller than the diameter of the hose on your vacuum. run the tubing through the hole in the lid of the can so the end is almost at the bottom of the can. stick the other end of the hose down the dipstick tube. Put the end of the vacuum hose over the other hole in the lid of the can and start the vacuum. It'll create a strong vacuum inside the coffee can and pull the oil out of the sump, depositing the oil in the bottom of the can as it comes out...keeping your vacuum spotless. instant vacuum pump.
