Dents on hood?

Dents on hood?
Anybody notice small dents on their 07 Outlander hoods? I discovered some small dents that are located on top of the hood several inches forward of the hood brace/brackets. I called my dealer service manager and he told methey have seen this before. He went on to say that during the shipping from Japan, they attach covers over the hood area for protection, and that they use very large tie-wrap style fasteners. Those tie wraps are what he thinks are causing the small dents. He told me that he has a very good body guy he trusts who will fix it for me. So my impression of the dealership is pretty high ,at the moment.

RE: Dents on hood?
not 1 dent in my, only minimal clear coat scratching from the damn plastic wraping, I guess they just remodev it by sliding it towards the person doing it, instead of lifting to avoid the trapped dirt cought under it to scratch the clear coat.

When I was in my senior year in high school, my uncle gave me the first car I ever owned -- a 1953 Chevy-- which my uncle had owned for many years. I doubt that one could put a dent in either the top of the fender or hood with a blow delivered by any part of the human body. That hood was HEAVY!
Nowadays on today's vehicles such as the Outlander, one has to be careful how hard one pushes down when washing or waxing the vehicle, let alone striking it with a fist, hand or foot. (I understand that Lambo panels are particularly delicate.)
Recently I noticed a small dent at about the 11 o'clock position just off the curve of the passenger front wheel well. The fender is so flimsy that I was able to pull it out with a dowel that I stuck to the dent with a bit of hot-glue on the end of the dowel and then allowed to cool. You might want to consider doing this to any dents anywhere else on the apparently paper-thin body of this vehicle.
