Question Diamond upgraded alarm system

I believe the UK Diamond model get an alarm upgrade modification when it comes into the country.

I have bought a second hand Diamond and there is what looks like an after market alarm "sensor" connected on the roof next to the front interior lights. Is this part of that alarm upgrade and thus do other Diamond owners have this?

I doubt the dealer installs that...it comes standard around the mid level trim in most countries. If it has the 3 hole sensor, then it has the upgraded alarm system.

Ok thanks - it would be good to hear back from UK owners of the Diamond variant.

I have the add on documentation and what looks like Thatchum certificate for the upgrade system - which goes on may about the LED unit that sits near the gear stick that flashes to let you know what caused the alarm to go off etc.. but iy doesn't show anything about any new sensor sucg as what seems to be fitted.

I'll re-cap I have what looks like a black alarm sensor unit attached to the vehicle roof next to the roof lights (the wire from this sensor goes into the roof light moulding) - wonder if this is normal for the Diamond in the UK after COLT do the upgrade?

2009 model '10' plate Outlander Diamond.

No sensor next to the interior light.

I do have what I think are alarm sensors on the windscreen pillars next the the "SRS airbag" moldings.

I do have the led and button ahead of the gear stick to disable the Cobra alarm, presumably in the absence of the key?

Thanks folks - I'm now at a loss - should I attempt to cut it away or not at is seems liek it should not be part of the factory fitted updated alarm.

Personally I'd leave it unless it's causing a problem. Could it be an upgraded microphone for the BT phone function?

Maybe you could check with the last owner via the V5 details?

Thanks folks - good idea about the phone concept - I'll maybe cover it up and see if this causes issues with the phone.

It's certainly not as smart as the factoy fitted sensor module as depicted in the 2010 outlander photo attached by Vadimus.

Makes me wonder where the damn sensors are for the upgraded alarm unit??
