Hi, download patch from www.deltainfo.ro software package NR261-EM version E DVD in motion allowed. Follow instruction exactly as discribed by Zox in page 6 of this thread. Try using a different software for burning the ISO file Roxio & Nero both work fine. If it doesn't work is probably due to APPLICATION 00.31.10 for it works for my APPL. 00.31.06.
In this case you have to wait for Otaku and his new general patch. Hope it works.

Updating procedure
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
1. Extract files from archive.
2. Burn the ISO file on a blank, fresh CD (in NERO, Menu -> Recorder -> Burn Image)
3. Start the engine and insert the burned CD into MMCS' unit
4. Wait for it to check the disk and to start the upgrade procedure. It may take up to a minute do make the checks.
5. Wait for the update procedure to finish. This will take 3 to 5 minutes. At the end the unit will reboot.
6. After start, you will be prompted AGAIN to update. Choose NO, the unit is already updated.
7. Remove the CD.
8. Drive carefully while enjoying your DVD movie

Hi Otaku,

Have you had any time to make any progress with the AUX in motion patch?

Regards,

Hello Outie lovers. Just got a brand new 2.2DiD with MMCS. First thing I tried is to apply Otaku's patch. I downloaded the MMCS-E-DVD.rar from DeltaInfo, using the link:Outlander Update CD, NR261-EM, Software version Version E, DVD in motion allowed. Used Nero 6.6 to burn the extracted iso image to CD (in Nero: Recorder-Burn Image), using 'TrackAtOnce' and 'Finalize CD'.
Went to my Outtie, started the engine and flipped the MMCS open. Inserted the CD and YES! it said indeed "Checking ..". After about 10 seconds the "Checking Disc" indication disappeared and nothing else happened.
Did I do something wrong?
Or is the image not suitable for my MMCS version?

The setting screen on my MMCS shows:
SW version: H
MAP version:2007-A
CDDB version:1019-0000

The Version Information behind the SET-NAVI key combination shows:
Loader:BLD-NR-261EM 1.09
Application:00.40.11
Navi Subprocessor:00.31.00 090004
Audio Subprocessor:00.34.02 003402
Map Data:M140
Monitor:00.27.00
Can Box:000120

Can anybody help me?

HNK.

I believe this is your problem. I dont think Otaku has made a patch for this app version (00.40.11). Its the downside to the patch, it has to be made for your current or newer app version to work. Meaning you cant use the patches that were made for older Application versions (ex. 00.20.68, 00.30.94). Also, they have to make a patch for each version of MMCS. For example, UM-00.30.94, EM-00.30.94...and so on. So when a new app version comes out. It has to be redone.

I know your MMCS is from the EU, but nice that your map version is 2007. US are still either 2005 or 2006. We are waiting for 2008 to be available, hopefully March.

Yes, the engine works on any version I have ever seen.
Yes, it should work on any future version.
If there is an incompatibility , there will be an update release ( given my understanding of the system ) within 2 days .

My problem currently is : I cannot release it until I have tested the protection system fully - this is purely a pre-emptive measure..
I want to check out any possible incompatibilities.
This requires playtime with an actual unit...
Which is apparently a problem in N.Ireland.
Again - if anyone knows someone in N.I. with an MMCS ( or a merc with the 204 unit ) , then ping me..
Until then, I'm afraid its a waiting game ..
atb.
O.

tdford, Otaku, thanks for your explanations.

So I have to spent some time in NI (not the worse of things, I think), for giving Otaku a chance to play around with my MMCS. But since I then have to leave my lovely dog behind, I don't think a trip to NI will happen in the next coming years.
Otaku has right: for the time beeing it's a waiting game. :-((

In the meantime Ihave nothing else left thengo for the lessattractive solution thatMadMax has posted on the German forum: http://www.outlander-forum.de/sogeht...-II-mmcs_1.php.

Otaku, if you ever plan a trip to Holland, you're welcome to use my MMCS for your efforts to help us all with proper solutionsfor theDVD-in-motion.

Unbelievable thatwhen you buy a new Outlander now, you get a navi with ancient maps. I complaint to my dealer that the maps version was 2 years old. But looking at what happens in the US, it seems I am lucky. How is it possible that in the most modern country of the world they sell navi's with 4 year old maps?
