I have a 08 Lancer GTS (bought it Nov'07), not the Evo X and I have the application 00.30.94. It may just be a newer version was made when the vehicle was built, idk, sucks tho.[:@]
Feeling daring enough to pull the hard drive and copy the "alldata.kwi" and "loading.kwi" files so we can patch them?

Brian

I have a 2009 Lancer with the 00.30.94 version. I have read the unlocking the HDD thread, do you think those same keys will work for the UM version?

Yes , both the EM, and UM versions currently use the same locking keys.

As far as I remember Brian360 used a slightly different key. All info is there, for both UM and EM version. The procedure is the same.

I actually ran into a problem. I do not have that IDE adapter to be able to hook the HDD up to pull the files off!

Read this https://mitsubishiforum.com/m_208034/tm.htm. The keys are:

Usually, an old laptop, with IDE disk, can do the job (by replacing it with MMCS's one while unlocking). Newer laptops are using SATA disks. The USBtoIDE adapter is not good.

Right, but once it is unlocked won't I need to plug it up to a machine with windows to copy the files or did I misunderstand the directions?

Would this one work for what we are doing?

new member, first post, STRICTLY came here due to this thread, i've been trying to find out how to do this since i first heard you couldn't do anything while in drive -
many thanks to you guys, who are brave and willing, and knowledgeable to take apart your cars...

I'd do it for you guys but the car isn't really mine yet - some bank things to take care of.

MisterStrike -

the newegg item you've got on there should work. from what i understand, you need to have the MMCS drive as the only drive attached, via IDE (not USB to IDE) during the unlock procedure. once unlocked, you can use a USB to IDE adapter, or have the MMCS drive as slave? to a computer running windows (or any other OS to pull the files off). once done, you should be able to unhook the drive from the computer, pop it back in the car, and wait for Otaku to do his magic :)
