Default Dvd player while driving?

I was scrolling through the manaul looking for the amp connector for another trend on here and came across this section. If im not mistaken bypassing the speed sensor that turns off the dvd player seems to be pretty simple?

I think rdenis or someone along those lines figured out you have to disable the gps as well.

Im having trouble getting this second one to load right. Can we just trick the transmission range switch? Maybe it not think its in drive? Just digging for more ways to do this and after staring at the pages for awhile I wanted to feel like I got something accomplished.

This way I was thinking that if you trick the transmission control than you wouldnt have to do the gps. If the tranny thinks your in park than what would it matter if your gps thinks your doing 20 mph? It doesnt show that inline.

I've noticed that in the archives there appear to be two people who claim they've disabled the DVD blank-out function in their MMCS unit, but neither person will provide *any* info about how they did it, or even proof that they had done it. Working on the benefit of the doubt, it does leave a thread of hope that it can be done, possibly without even requiring an engineering degree Eventually I'm going to get around to checking some signals in my 08 Lancer with the same MMCS unit to see what I can find.

Has anybody tried moving the car with the ignition in "accessory" position playing a dvd (coasting)? Maybe there's a one in a million chance that there's a wire that tells the MMCS when the key is in "Run" vs "Acc", and the MMCS software doesn't bother doing speed checks in acc mode.
