Electric Shock When Exiting the Vehicle
Hey I have a 2015 Mitsu Outlander Sport SE and nearly every day when I get out of the vehicle I experience a static electric shock. My passenger the other day experienced the same thing.
I mean this nearly happens to me every day. Anyone else have this situation?

This is not unique to the outlander. In the north I have seen people with antistatic straps that hang from the rear of the car and drag the ground to dissipate the static charge.
There are also keychains that act essentially as a fuse to be the weakest point and absorb the shock; though I don't know how effective they are.

I experience this every time as well, I have the cloth seats. Wife's new Subaru has leather and we never blast ourselves. My old Ranger had cloth and only zapped myself in winter due to low humidity.
I've learned to either hold onto the metal door as I exit the seat (you discharge without the shock) or brush the door with the back side of my hand or elbow area (relatively dead sensory parts of your body).
You can also carry a metal wand and let that take the shock...but you'll still experience a mild jolt still.

never recommend a Mitsubishi to anyone !!!
no matter what car you get . If it has cloth seating and you are wearing a synthetic shirt or jacket then get used to it. Simple way to reduce the shock is to take hold of the metal door top before getting out of the car . This earths the static and then no shock. Either that or wear natural cotton, wool etc.
Since originally making the post, I haven't experienced the electrical "shock" in many months. I am not sure what caused it but it has stopped. Interestingly I get a similar shock on my newly purchased treadmill sometimes when I am walking and reach over to get my phone off the attached metal plate. I guess it is something to do with humidity and the electrical charge in the air but so much for rubber tires and a rubber mat keeping me grounded.
I get shocked every time I exit my 2017 Outlander . The shocks range mild to strong , and static dusk clings to my dash . I've never had this in any other car I've owned . Sometimes you can see the spark . I hate it . Makes me want to sell my Outlander . I would

Are you serious ? If so you need to see a specialist.
