Default Emergency, Rear Windows

Today is the morning of a big road trip, but to my dismay the rear windows are stuck. Both windows keeping getting hitched at the same place, about half way up the window. I tried searching for some answers because I remember hearing about a problem similar to this, but my search failed. Compounding the problem, all the service rep could tell me was that my car was under warranty and that he couldn't see me till tomorrow. Does anyone have any ideas on how to unjam my windows???

Sorry, I found the thread. This must be a problem in 2008s too. From the start i thought that the rear windows raised quite strangely. My service rep didn't act like he knew what the problem was at all. Another strange thing i noticed was that the seal on the left side of the door (facing the inside of the car) is bunched in the middle. Wondering if this was normal? Won't be near a dealer till mid-july so I'll keep you posted when the problem does eventually get fixed.

I just took my 08 ES in for the 1 year service and asked the service advisor about this problem. He said they have had a couple of outlanders who had the problem, and it was fixed under warranty.

What does the lemon law say about that. I think it's x3 and if not fixed then you could actually officially claim it a lemon. Thankfully, my 07 doesn't do that (yet?)

rcpax, I don't to do it, because still I wait for a solution. According to it says dealer to me, will have to change all the mechanism of both windows. Previously, they have treated the procedure that Mitsubishi sent them, that only consists of fitting a "linkage", but out has not worked in my Outie. So, I trust that they are going to solved

Thanks for the great pic and making me laugh. Your "Outtie" needs an "Innie" fix that works. I bet it's not a problem with the window mechanism but a problem with a defect in the construction of the door itself which is why Mitsubishi hasn't rushed to fix it.

there is a fix for it.

see your dealer. In the meantime, try applying WD-40 (or some other similar lubricating compound) to the window runchannels.
