Currently driving an 09 Outlander with 22,000 kms on it and the front tires are worn out. Yes have had them rotated with every 2nd oil change. Just wondering what kind of mileage that everyone else is getting out of these tires, they are the Yokohama Geolanders.

My 09 XLS came with Goodyear tires.

From other postings on the forum I understand they only last about 50K km's or so.

I'm at 18K km's now of which ~8K are on the Goodyears which are my summer "all season" tires.

I ride on 16" winter tires to reduce the wear of the more expensive 18" summer set and get better handling in the winter.

I find it a bit strange how the front and rear sets would wear differently in your case though with proper rotations. Do you drive in 2WD mode mostly. I find I can get a lot of wheel spin from quick acceleration in that mode.

Yes it is weird that the fronts are worn more then the rear. We drive it in 2wd unless there is snow and ice. Have read on another forum that the Yokohama Geolanders only last 30k tops. Will be replacing all four tires here soon with much better tires, not sure on what brand yet. Probably stick with Goodyear.
Gotta love that Mitsu uses the cheapest parts on their vehicles and then charge top dollar for them. Not impressed with Mitsu so far.

We bought our '07 with the OEM geolanders with 30k miles on them. We drove them safely for another 10k miles for a total of 40k miles. You might want to have your alignment checked to make sure you are grinding off your tires. And if your camber is off and they say they cannot be adjusted, there are camber adjustment kits out there for us.

 

I think most automakers put "softer" rubber on their vehicles out of the factory to give a nice smooth test drive. This is the first new vehicle I've owned though so I don't have any other experiences.

They don't last very long but give an ok ride.

At 22K km you only should have had 1 rotation if you are following a 6K km OCI @ 12K km's.

 

I replaced OEM Goodyear tires right at 22k, road noise and handling was improved with my upgrade.

 

My Geolanders have done 23000k and still haven't been rotated. The fronts still have 4mm to the treadwear indicators and the backs about 5mm. I drive most of the time in front wheel drive. I have done a bit of caravan towing with it. I just had it put on LPG (its hard to find someone to do it here in Australia)
I would like quieter tyres next time and am thinking about the Falken ZE 912 235/65/16 as they are close enough the same diameter as stock tyres.
I have them on the ute and seem ok. I drive hard and like to be in front.
