Default FAST key battery life?

What is your average life for your FAST key? Mine is about 3 months old, and I believe it is already about dead.

I have to hold it about an inch from the door to get it to work. My wife’s fast key still works from a distance. I use mine multiple times a day, as she only uses it once or twice a week.

I would still think that I should get more than 3 months with daily uses.

Have been using the same one since June 2007 with no problems. Probably battery failure, get a swapped out. And if you have already and problem still exists then have dealer replace fob.

Just one CR2032?

My wife works at an electronics store, and gets those things for about $0.50. So even if mine only lasted 3 months I am not going to complain.

what model year is your vehicle?

certain 2007 model fast keys will remain in test mode and drain the battery down

Yea, I just replaced mine in both of my remotes. I have had the car 2 years, and I have noticed a decrease in the range, with both fobs, even after changing the battery... so I don't know. But my second one I never use, it is just a backup and it drained at the same rate as the one I use everyday. I finally knew it was time to change it when the car told me the battery was low, although it only said it once and I drove like that for another 2 weeks.
