Default FASTkey alarm arming

Are you supposed to be able to arm the factory security alarm(RED led in dash blinks) if you lock the doors from the interior switches in the doors or only from the FASTkey or exterior proximity buttons?

I just installed a remote start and cannot remember if I was able to arm the vehicle through the interior door switches prior.

My Outlander Sport does not arm the alarm from the interior switches. Only the FASTkey button on the doors/trunk or from pushing the button on the FOB.

All of my previous cars have worked this way as well.

I can confirm what Burtonrider observed: my Outlander Sport arms the alarm only when I lock it using the remote or outside buttons.

What's the difference between one button press on the fob vs two button presses on the fob (causes the horn to beep)?

If the horn doesn't go off on the double press, chances are that its not locking because of something.

True, that happened to me once or twice.
