...Mitsu. has made its flagship models (Outie, Sports/ASX, Evo) with its robust signature fighter jet nose, which i thought it has made a smart competitive move in the market......just don't understand why they introduce this ugly looking Outie....a huge step backward....

There's a 166HP 2.4L four cylinder with a CVT and a 224HP 3.0L 6 cylinder with a 6 speed automatic. No MPG estimates were given in the article. Also heard it will not be available in US until July 2013. About 6 months later the US will also get the plug in hybrid that was shown at the Paris auto show. The link to the LA Auto show article is below.

so engine wise sounds like the existing engines are not updated and going into the new body. They have only added things like adaptive cruise and lane departure warning, and auto braking if you are about to run into something in front.

I really like my 2012 outlander look more than this one.

Default sad

this is truly sad, I was looking forward in leasing a new outlander. to bland and fugly for my liking, I like my 07 better. also not to crazy for the 09-12 models either, front is just to flat, the sport looks much better IMO . hopefully the outlander sport will come out with a more powerful engine and I will be on board again, otherwise im done with Mitsubishi.

I really think Mitsubishi is digging their own grave I really liked the 07-12 Outlanders now it looks worse than a Subaru sad to say. The new Rav 4 is more appealing then this new Outlander. Unless they come out with the Montero Shogun in the USA I will just stick to my 08 Outlander XLS. Its really sad how a company struggling to stay alive and move vehicles would produce a 2014 that looks like a box on wheels. Who designed that and thought it was nice?

Alright Mitsu, if you are out there listen....

You are a very large company, and have your hands in a bunch of industries. But, if you are going to continue to make passenger vehicles you need to make a CHANGE!!!

Econo boxes. We got it. Luxury, yep. Hybrids, gas guzzlers, and computers on wheels. Check. You need to stop chasing everyone and basically copying what is already out there. You need to step out of everyone elses shadow and go make your own.

Do you have some sort of "cult" following, yes. But is it diminishing, yes.

We dont need you to make vehicles that just fit in with all the other models. We want you to make something that impresses us, that actually makes us want to say: I want that!

Mitsubishi has the technology, they have the manufacturing. DO SOMETHING WITH IT!!! I dont want/need a redisigned Outie that has 5 year old technology in it and call it a new model. Adaptive Cruise, Auto Braking, Lane Departure, etc, etc, etc. Inspire us, please.

I do have one idea. A car manufacturer that has vehicles with modern day design, inside AND out. Has options to make it a driving space ship full of technology, or maybe as subtle as AC and a nice stereo. But eitherway, something that I love to drive. Not only because it has great handeling and ride quality. But because the thing actually moves and gets me where I want to go in an exciting manner.

Lets look at why people use to buy Mitsu. They had performance, and they were cheap(er). The funny thing is, people still want the same thing. What has changed is that you have maybe one model that actually might hit on that note, the Evo. So lets take the one good thing you've done, and multiply it. Yes, I'm talking about performance vehicles that get good mileage and that dont cost an arm and a leg. And if I want a rear dvd for the kiddos, front cooling seats, or bluetooth everything, I can add it in because hey, those things are cool too. But the one thing I know my Mitsu will do, is get me somewhere in a hurry.

Performance vehicles at an economical price. Not because they are cheap, but because you can.

To the Mitsubishi CEO

Hire the 2 chaps that designed the 8th Gen Honda civic, they should come up with something that People really want to drive and be seen in

Not some bland out of date box of steel

Your job will be on the line sooner than you think. Your current designer should be fired

If the F&%*#&G Outlander Sport just had the 2.4L in it I'd bet it would be THE best selling CUV for the last few years. My '11 SE is very, very well equipped for $22k. A comparably equipped Equinox or Escape (with lower MPGs and shorter warranties) were $27k-$28k. And to top it off Mitsu had great financing rates. The 2.0 is so undersized that it struggles to move the car, and HURTS the gas mileage. Logically, the 2.4 could have been retuned or just detuned to gain higher MPG's but still be about as fast as the full sized Outlander because of the weight savings.

The 2.0 in the Outlander "Sport" speaks volumes to me about their decision making abilities.

I could not agree any more with this statement. Put the 2.4 in the sport and I'm all over it
