since buying my outlander V6 VRX i have noticed (toolate)that the design of the front wheel flares means the sills are completely exposed to stone chips and despite obeying speed limits over new seals it has complely wrecked the paint work of the sills (it's less than 6 months old). anyone else think that front mud guards should be standard on the outlander?

if anyone is thinking of buying one i would recommend inisting on them being thrown into the package free.

we love our outlander, how it drives and handles, but this has been disappointing

 

I would agree. I too was very disappointed to see the chips after driving half the winter without them. Went and picked up a set as soon as I realized.

They should definitely be standard.

 

Get some clear 3M Vinyl on there.

 

Hmmm... the amount you would need... the mudguards are probably cheaper?

 

Get them both as I have the mud guards (front&back) since new and the sandblasting is still going on, but not too much into the rear door. Do a search on this subject (in this forum) and you will be read up on the problem.

 

3M Clear vinyl is fairly cheap. Not to mention it has a lifetime guarentee.

Not to mention its clear, and you can only see it when your face is right up to it. So its not an eye sore.

You cant see it. My brother has it on his Lotus Elise.

Its totally clear.

You need to have it done by someone that knows what they are doing. There are examples on the internet though...
