Default FWD Traction

I have a 2013 FWD with the 4cyl. I have had this car for several years. Living in central Indiana the winters are cold rain, ice, sleet and some snow. This is the worst handling (traction) FWD car I have owned. The front tires spin and the front end pushes or slides easily in turns in the wet. I replaced the tires with good all season tires a couple of years ago which helped some but still not satisfactory. Wondering if going to snow tires for the front will help much? Any thoughts or experiences you guys can share?
Thanks.
