I have a 2007 Outlander. Every single time I stop to get gas, the gas pump clicks off after just a few seconds. I have to hold the nozzle practically the whole time I'm filling up and even then I have to let it slowly fill or it clicks off. What's going on? Any help would be appreciated.

 

Are you jamming the nozzle all the way in? Sometimes it helps to back it out just a little bit so that the "backwash" isn't hitting the nozzle (which would cause it to stop.)

I have encountered the same problem couple of times. When it happens, I always move my car to a different gas pump and that seems to take care of the problem. In my case, i have realised that some gas pumps are more sensitive than others.

 

Thanks everyone...Yes, I've tried backing the nozzle out a little and it fills a little more, but still clicks off. I guess I'll have to get it looked at.
