Default Grr...Need Advice! ASAP!

Hey Guys,

Some of you guys may know that I just pick up my Mitsu Outie XLS yesterday. And after I pick up our outie, the dealer just kinda...dont care about us! Well, first it was the cross bars, Im pretty sure that lie to us about how it is a 1100 Dollar CND for cross bars. Well, we kinda made them gave it to us for free, so is all good. But the second day we had the car, problems kicked in. This is a Demo Outie, so it has been Test Drove, sat on a lot of times, and own by the Gen. Manger of the dealership for some time. So we basicly check everything before we it drove away. But today, we brought a DVD to the outie, put it in the DVD player, and everything started and stuff, got the Wireless Headphone out, and guess what? Is broken! Im pretty sure the Gen Manger break it, becasue who else will do that? One of the side was taped, and is not in working condition. I call the dealer right away, and he said he will call me back. 2 Hrs, later, he said, "The warranty would not cover that." WHAT! I just pick this up, found out is broken, and you are going into the warranty! And it won't cover too! Grrrr...I guess I have to buy another one off Mitsu. But I remember the sales person said, remember, dont buy aftermarket step bars, I will call you guys as soon as Mitsu start having them in Canada. Now, I will NOT buy anything from the Mitsu, atleast not thedealer that I went to...

Grrrr....What would you guys do,if you found out that the ear phone isbroken, and it cantbe cover by the warranty, plus is your second day with the carr.

Thanks!

You have a set amount of days you can return the car. I would bring it back and make it clear that you will cancel the deal on the spot.

Mitsubishi has no control over dealer practices. Dealerships are not owned by Mitsubishi. I think though that you can still return the car if you don't want it because they ripped you off. Get some legal help just in case they play hardball. Although I don't really know the terms and conditions you signed for when you bought the vehicle. If it was new then it is covered by warranty.

I would doubt that Mitsubishi has no control on dealer practices. While Mitsubishi doesn't own the dealer..the dealer doesn't own Mitsubishi. If Mitsubishi allows them to put theirlogo on their business, they have a big interest in making sure they provide a good experience. In the end, Mitsubishi can cut the franchise

Dealers are rated and it often influences the allocation of high demand units. It's one of the many tools car companies have to encourage good service

ThingsI would do.

1. If the DVD is a Mitsubishi Accessory, call Mitsubishi and state your case...they should be able to preapprove the warranty issue, so they don't have that excuse.
2. Call/Write the local Better Business Bureau or similar organization..this might take a while to get anything done
3. I'm not sure how many days you get before cancelinga deal (varies by country or state/province).

I dont know all the legal mumbo jumbo behind backing out on buying a car personally. I would contact a lawyer or someone with knowledge of returning a car from where ever you are from. I wouldnt personally return the outlander because of a 50$ set of head phones I would just try to use that toward my advantage. They might see it as wow were losing a sale or a 20xxxx car over 50$ headphones so lets get this guy happy and out of our hair.

Well, you really need to look at it realistically. Did you pay considerably less than you would have new?Are you willingto pay full price for a new Outlander? Is it Mitsubishis fault the GMs kids are inconsiderate ***** and stepped on the wireless headset?

After answering all that is it really worth the hassle over a $50 pair of headphones? If it had been wrecked and they didnt disclose it then that would be a legitimate issue.

As far as that dealer you don't have to go back to them. However, I would take the time to discuss it with mitsubishi first.

Well, yea, I pretty much gave up now for fighting the headphones. My Outlander was like 4000 bucks cheaper than a new one, so Im just going to give up fighting about them. Maybe going to get 2 sets of Headphones later for roadtrips.

If the headphones came with the car they should work or whats the point of the dealer leaving them in the car!!! It like they put a dent in a wing and then dearler saying we are not fixing it.

Push the point call them every day or call Mitsubishi direct.

I have said before mitsubishi make great cars but the are let down by their dealers!!!
