I hope someone can help, i have a 2011 Outlander and have bought the mitsubishi wiring harness but cannot find the plug in the engine bay, despite the instructions. Has anyone any photos of the location of this plug.

thanks

You need this thread, first page gives a general pic.

When I used that to get 12v to the rear of the car I found it to be tapped to the underside of the loom that goes to the light cluster.

Take the battery off (using usual precautions) and that should make it easier to see and get too.

The plug for my 2011 was taped to the loom that is in front of the core support and it was black, with one red wire.

I tried to locate my plug w/o taking out the battery, to no avail. Just like Tomo1971 said, remove the battery and you will see it.

Thanks guys found it taped to a wire under the headlight cluster, install is now complete but not what i would call easy.

For those that may be considering the install should note that i had several access issues, wires on left hand side pillar were difficult to unclip due to subwoofer, access to predrilled exit hole was restricted by seat belt assembly for rear bench, hardest of the lot was threading the cable to the outside as it is in the tightest part of the bumber. Hands are cut to pieces would definitely pay to get it done next time. Fitting the towbar was a doddle by comparison.

Does the wire connects on the positive or necative pole?

Are the trailer wires not on the right hand side under the removable tray above the wheel well? Why did you need to take out the subwoofer?
