I have a 07 XLS. My DRL doesn't come on until put the gear in D(rive).
Catacami has a 2005 Outlander 2WD. Thats the difference.

Ken4ny - Do you have HIDs? I have an '07 XLS 4wd w/ Lux (Includes HIDs), Nav, Sun & Sound pkgs. My DRLs (which are the driving lights) come on as soon as the vehicle is started. Nothing seems to make them turn off including setting the hand brake.

You could basically wire in a kill switch. Find the wires giving power to the DRL and splice in a kill switch. The switch will be in your car some where and stop the power by a flick of a switch.
Many thanks antlip, that's a great idea! I only want temporary disabling.

It is just simple...All it is a prong located on the ecu that you need to bend back alittle so that way it is not connected...it controls your drl's.....

Not sure though if it would be the same on the 07, my guess would be it wouldnt

Can some one send me the procedure to disable the DRL. I hate to have the lights all the day running.
I have a Outlander 2007 with normal lights.

Thanks

Mine is US version. The HID is part of the Luxury package and XLS uses fog light as DRL.

I set it to accessory mode today, and the DRL did not come on. I have HID's if that matters.

Do you mean the key position? If so, your engine wouldn't be running at that point would it. It doesn't matter to me .....yet, but I did disable them on my GTI for no really good reason several years ago.
