Question how to call a contact in car's phonebook

Hello,

I have outlander 2009 with navigation system and Bluetooth. I have paired my cell phone with it. I have also added an entry in the car's phone book. But how to call that entry. It seems that the hands free system can only accept numbers
not names.

Then what is the point having car phone book?

Thanks

I think you can only say out the name you want to dial if you have the newer FUSE capable system. I can tell it who to call on my 2012.

CALL <name> instead of DIAL <number>

Ie, I have an entry called "wife" in there is a mobile, home and work number.

I say "Call wife" it then says : woudl yo like to call WIFE one mobile, home or work" I say "home" and it dials.

OR I say DIAL and it says " What number" then dials it.

Default It is not FUSE

For 2009 model, I don't think it is FUSE.

I also need to add extensions. I also need to insert pause or wait in my vehicle phonebook contacts.

The manual says 0-9, hashtag/pound and the comma can be imported but how can I enter a comma via the voice prompts>
