Default How to Connect iPod To Rockford Audio System

Hi

I got the outlander vrx 2.4 model and i live in Auckland. The manual advise that I can connect my iPod to rockford audio system via a genuine dock connector from Apple Inc.

I tried to use my normal USB cable that I normally use to connect my iPod to PC but it doesn't work. When i switch to iPod mode, it says no songs.

Do I need a special cable to connect iPod to the rockford system? Any advise will be appreciated

I also has an Iphone4. Does it works the same as the iPod?

I pretty much just duplicated your post.

https://mitsubishiforum.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=38217

We have an '11 2.4 with a 3rd row seat and "sight and sound" -moonroof/RF stereo.

I could only get our 8gb nano c.2005 to load and not an older 4th gen iPod with click wheel (40gb), nor a 80 gb 6th gen.

I'd be happy to stick with just the nano, but the girl has it with her. I have 22 gb of music on the 6th gen and it does not load.

Let see if together we can find an answer.

Updated News.

I tried my old iPod. I think it is the 3rd generation. It works perfectly fine but not my iPhone4, which is a shame.

Hi

I am new to this forum and am buying a 07 Outlander with the subwoofer rockford fosgate system. I would like to connect my Ipod Touch and be able to control it from the stereo unit. Is this possible with the stereo as it is or can I buy an adapter to do this?

Thanks in advance.

James

does it have the usb drive? if so it should wokr, but depending on the unit you will have to update the firmware for the stereo. I have a Outlander sport and when i connected anything with iOS4 it would fail. updating the firmware on the stereo let it connect ios4 and ios5

Hello! I have an 09 Outlander XLS with the Rockford Fosgate System (Sun&Sound). It has an auxiliary input, however I saw the newer Outlanders seem to use the same head unit and have a USB port in the center console. Does anyone know how I can do a retrofit to add a USB port to my radio? Thanks!!!

You need a new NAV unit ($1500) and bluetooth module ($300) along with some custom wiring.

Thanks buddy! Does anybody know a less expensive solution? I am hoping for an interfase that plugs in the back of the head unit and can be found at Radio Shack...

You could always buy the MITO-02 and steering wheel control interface and install your own stereo.
As far as I know, only the older MMCS in Australia has a DIN style connector in the rear for which an iPod adapter can be used for.
