I am coming up on 60,000 miles - and I need to get the timing belt replaced.

My mechanic says that if they go in to do that, they might as well replace the water pump and the other belts, so the labor is only charged once.

I want to shop pricing for the timing belt, the water pump and the other belts so I can save some money. How can I find out what the other belts are that I need to research? I know the serpentine belt is one. The drive belt is another. What I am I missing? And is there a site with this info?

I have a 2004 Outlander 4C.

In the motor you have a timing belt and balancer belt. Then you have one accessory belt (drive belt/serpentine belt) on the outside. Replace all 3.

Can I push my luck and ask for a price on the Water Pump too?

And am I calling it by the right name? - I could've sworn the mechanic said if they got in there for the timing belt, they might as well replace the "water pump"...

We usually change the water pump on the second timing belt (120K) unless it is leaking, but it is up to you.
