My understanding (based on Mits advertising) was the Rockford premium sound system had 9 speakers including sub. I only count 7 - 2 tweeters, 2 front door, 2 rear door and the sub. Schematics show the same. So where did the other two speakers go?

 

The rear speakers are a combo speaker. The tweeter is the center cone insdie the bigger speaker. Its a 2 in 1 speaker. so the rear counts as 4.

Yea them sneaky guys did it again. I have no idea how the back speakers sound. I might get in the back seat tomorrow and hear how the combo speakers sound.

 

I fooled around with the balance of the speakers and you can get a really nice level. The speakers in the back sound great....but enough to count them as 2? I would have said this ride has only 7 lucky speakers.

 

so the rear speakers are co-axial..?

 

Looking inside the door panel and seeing the rear speaker I would say so. They have the tweeter in the center.

 

co-axial it is... well at least its back there... I really wish though that they would have put some speakers in the tailgate... that would have been bitchin

 

The new jeep has that set up. Two flip down speakers on the rear hatch. I dont know how often I would use something like that. Its more of a tail gate party feature.

 

anyone know if the RF premium soundspeakers are any good? i wouldn't want to go down from my Signat H15 i have in my doors right now.

one of the local dealers said that they'll be offering a sound dampening package together with the car because it has poor insulation in stock.
