How to unlock MMCS
#573
I think they are assembled in Japan (as new obviously) for the OZ and NZ market and shipped over to us. I believe the Mitsubishi plant in Oz was shut down many years ago so no mitsi's are assembled in OZ anymore.....the jap imports (cars made for the Japanese market and then imported into NZ) have a small mirror on the fender opposite the driver.
The photo in this post is exactly the same as mine but they call them the VRX in NZ rather than the XLS. The VRX, and I assume the XLS in Oz, come with all the trimmings as standard that are optional in the cheaper models.

I'm also interested in getting the maps. Undersrtand NZ and OZ are one package.
BTW I still haven't had the nerve to install the English version of MMCS yet. Hate to kill the whole unit as it sounds so good. Figured learning Japanese may be less risky.

Mmcs j-04 English conversion lost calling ability ...
Hi
We have an j-04 in our 2009 outlander that was imported into NZ and recently paid for the Japanese to English conversion files but have lost bluetooth/ calling ability after conversion.
Quick update- they are working on this at the moment as it requires voice recognition.

Which company was it?
..and why do you want Japanese maps in NZ?
Ive found the benefit of having English outways lost function. There was a small amount of things in the J-01 that disappear but I didnt care. E.g. reverse lines. These seem to be ok with the J-04 though.
