Small update to my previous post, the Intel Password Textbox is limited to 32 characters.
Well I got it working... unbelievable. I had to write a program to write the original values which are outside of human readable text to the clipboard to paste the value in the window. In order to get the correct values in the clipboard I had to use Code Page 1252 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code_page_1252); No more using XboxHDM 2.2 !!
I have a small YouTube Clip showing it in action.

Does anyone know the exact steps to unlock the drive using the above method with Intel Rapid Storage app? From what I read here, Intel Rapid Storage has an Unlock Drive function built in but I'm unable to install the program.
I have to use this method because I don't have an old pc/laptop anymore and none of my friends have.
Is this even possible or I'm doing something wrong? (I saw in the video that it works and in another post are the passwords for those three types of file system).

Tried out these instructions for how to unlock the MMCS navigation SD card and it actually worked! After the quick procedure I could easily back-up and change the contents of the SD drive, just like an ordinary SD card. I ended up copying back my old map and it worked without any issues. I still need to do my homework by reading through this thread properly before I attempt any upgrade. Last thing I want is to stuff up the system and can't get back to start.
First thing is to get it into English then I'll look at GPS maps and then TV. If I can get all of this working for NZ I'd be very happy.

Did you ever get this to work? I have the J11 and managed to get it converted to English. But I need the NZ GPS Maps

Remove HDD from MMCS
Remove battery for minimum 10 minutes
Connect to IDE of PC (MMCS drive only)
Boot from CD XBOXHDM
Choose option 3 ‘boot linux with locking\unlocking utilities.
Wait for Root@Xbox-HDM:/1 Prompt
Type command
unlockhd –p <KEY>
this is the J-01 Key I used

If completed successfully typing command fdisk –l will show the partitions
Turn off pc
Run Windows with MMCS HDD connected
Locate Loading.kwi on partition with folder screendata.
Backup the original loading.kwi then replace with the new one
Reinstall HDD into car
Reconnect battery
