Your kidding me, selling CD's for $200 to profit for yourself killed this whole thing. Ruined everything that this chat had going...

Actually $200 is official price, stock way update with no HDD trickery needed.

So if I have a dead hdd, I could only swap with the same hdd type and buy the official update? Right now I lost also bluetooth icon, the dvd update will install - upgrade all the sysyem?
And no, I'm not selling maps...

With dead HDD you still need some manual work to do. No unlocking but partitioning is still required AFAIR.
Once you have partitioned HDD (maps, empty, loading, screendata, cddb, avunit, first 3 are primary) cold boot MMCS with update DVD inserted (actually any CD/DVD with proper loading will do), after successful boot you can install the key and maps DVD to do the map install.

Hi Vadimus,
-cold boot without hdd inserted?
-I do not have an update dvd... only a loading.kwi, I am missing alldata.kwi (this update dvd can be bought from the dealer?)
Cheers

I removed my HDD yesterday and put the latest ( m250) Europe maps on and all seems to be working fine.
However when looking at my systems info I see that I am still running application 00.31.06. I've been trying without success to find a later loading kwi to update without success.
Am I missing out on any new features ?
Can anyone point me in the right direction for a later software than E ?
Thanks

I'm not sure but it should be related to the sw "box" that the MMCS use to speak on the CAN bus , so I updated it
