Figured I would add to this as well instead of starting a new thread.

Just got a 2010 Outlander ES with the convenience package (aux inputs in the armrest) and I'm trying to connect my iPod to the thing. Got the RCA to 3.5mm (or whatever the standard headphone jack is) and when I try and switch it to the AUX function, it pulls up "USB" and says there is no connection. I don't have a USB input, am I supposed to? ha ha. Just a little confused by this and what I need to make this work.

Thanks.

Edit: Okay, finally found it. For anyone else that's wondering you have to hold down the CD button in order for it it switch to AUX mode. Awesome. Give me a USB option that I don't have installed in the car and then hide the AUX option that I do have. Way to go Mitsu!

What did you press to get USB? Perhaps the 2010 base stereo has an unused USB port in the back or something.

AUX is not the best, by USB You have additional charging and probably You can do choice of songs/playlists by MMCS touchscreen and voice commands !!!
US version gets the FUSE system with USB input, bluetooth audio streaming, etc.
I have 2007 Canadian XLS, Can you expand on that software update. I would love to plug in my Iphone and control it trough my MMSC. I read on this forum that buying the kenwood kit won't work with the US/Canada version. Unless somebody got it to work.

Thanks

The "Source" button on the steering wheel that cycles through all of the options (AM, FM, CD, etc.) and it brings up the USB and Bluetooth. I will probably end up taking it apart to get a look at the back to see if there is a USB there, but I'll have to do it when my girl isn't anywhere near the car. If she sees me taking her 1 week old car apart, it might not end well ha ha.

I too have a UK spec 09 lancer with mmcs, and also have a Iphone that i would love to get connected up to the mmcs. I already have the sound/video aux in option, but I hate having the iphone on my lap and unsightly wires plugged in to the aux input area. does anybody know if the kenwood ipod adapter will work on my car before i try to rip the head unit out?
I like the look of having my iphone plugged in to a usb socket, which charges and connects to the mmcs with full control.

anybody done anything like this yet?

Thread revival....

Jsrd does that kenwood adaptor allow skipping tracks etc on the HU rather than the iPhone etc? Is that a good unit or is there a better one? And it simply plugs into that I put on the unit?
Thank you

Hi JSRD,

I just bought a Kenwood iPod Interface KCA-iP500. However, when i pulled out the head unit of my 2009 Outlander, the supposed to be iPod port doesn't match the plug in the interface. It has a 13 pin male while the port at the MMCS has a 4 holes.

Did i got the wrong interface?

Hello guys ! First of all excuse my spelling ,I really like the community here ! I'm the proud owner of a Mitsubishi Outlander 2008. really nice car, It has navigation with hdd , aux function active in the menu, rockford fosgate sound system , original rear view camera bud sadly NO PHISICAL RCA / AUXILIARY INPUT in the armrest. My car is equipped with the D-117 wire ( as you can see in the picture ). Can anyone help me with the arrangement of the wires from my standard 5 wire ( black blue white (empty space) brown light blue ) or D-117 to the common 3 jack RCA ( red yellow white ). or is there a possibility to buy the jack that fits in the D-117 socket. The desired resalut would be a audio jack input, or ideally bluetooth input for listening music ( the car has bluetooth for calls only ).
Any suggestion is appreciated. all the best !
→Car port :

→Standard Audio Video RCA

→Desired result / possible outcome :

Really looking forward into reading your reply's !

The most simply way, just solder RCA connector directly to cables as is difficult to find compatible for that plug connector
I made drawing for You, unfortunately, I can't solder via internet
3 way RCA socket I desoldered from old broken DVD player, You may find them may kinds in local electronic stores or at least if You have time and wait for delivry is alliexpress
Hope You can hold solder tool in a hand and connect it
Succcess
