RE: Just to let my brothers here know whats up.

Soundcolor: I hope your wife feels better. I'm a physician, used to work the ER and a private practice. I can tell you that sometimes it's difficult trying to separate workfrom emotion. Most doctors seem a little on the "cold hearted" side, but remember that when someone works on this field, it's nonstop with difficult choices, bad news and sometimes explaining things that are really hard to comprehend, even for us. For example, sometimes 1 symptom or sign in a laboratory value can have 50 different diagnoses. If a doctor tries to explain them all, he will end up making them seem worse than they really are and put unnecesary stress on you and your family. Thats why we wait till we can eliminate all the wrong diagnoses and then explain when it has been narrowed down. I don't know if this made sense but one advice I can give you is: It's hard, but be patient. Talk to your doctor and DO ask questions but keep it simple until he knows more. When he finds out whats going on, do not leave his office without an explanation on what's the diagnoses, what treatment, recommendations, suggestions, everythingYOU want to know. Like you said it could be nothing, so stay calm. I hope this helps.
Hope you and your wife have a beautiful baby.

RE: Just to let my brothers here know whats up.

hey sound,
not that many may want to hear my tale of woe, but i've been where you are, though it was 20 years ago. when my first wife was pregnant with our twins, our fourth and fifth, she was diagnosed with malignant melanoma, which fortunately went into remission. we went to sloan-kettering in ny to see a specialist named livingston, but he didn't appreciate my 'dr livingston i presume....' anyway, in the meantime, my wife's uncle had his lawyers kick me out of our trucking business, then stuck me with the debts, including some federal employment taxes, forcing me to file for bankruptcy. unfortunately, i picked a local, well-advertised law firm to handle it; the attorney we got stuck with must have been unofficially enrolled in their failing 'on the job' training program. that dopey woman told us we made too much money to file for bankruptcy! well after that tortuous exercise in futility, my wife was so despondent that i believe the terrible stress level we experienced brought her cancer back. after a year and a half or so of traveling for weeks at a time back and forth as a guinea pig to the nat'l cancer institute in frederick, md, she died at age 36 in march, 1991, leaving me with five young kids, our oldest was eleven, and the youngest, our twins, were four. maybe i gave too much info, but i wanted you to know that when i said i was where you are, i wasn't patronizing.
my prayers are with you, even though that 1/10 of a second difference between the wrx and the evo makes you think the subaru better than the mitsu....factor in the mitsu 100,000 mile guarantee and the wrx goes down....laughter is the best medicine!!! seriously, i share with all here, hope and prayers for your wife's recovery and your peace of mind.
