K500 primer
My wife and I just bought a set of side window deflectors for her 2007 outlander. In the install guide it tells us to use some 3m k500 primer on the leading corner of each front deflector. Does anyone know if we have to do this? My wife had deflectors on her lancer for 4 years without any problems and we did not have to use this stuff. I checked some of the local auto parts places but they don't have; any are there are substitutes available?
Thanks for any info and sorry for the strange first post.

RE: K500 primer
Just wipe it down with a microfiber cloth and denatured alcohol and you'll be fine. They just want to make sure there is no wax, oil, dust etc on the surface. You can get denatured alcohol at any hardware store, great stuff to have around for cleaning plastics too.

RE: K500 primer
As biscuit says a microfiber cloth with some alcohol (I prefer 50/50 with water) will do the trick for making sure the surface is clean. Since I'm a bit ****, I normally follow with an adhesion promoter like 3M 06396 (which may be the same as the k500, I don't recall). I think I bought the promoter about a year or two ago from Hands on Tools.
EDIT: This stuff is pretty powerful, so use gloves in a well ventilated area.
