I have a 2016 model outlander, registered Nov 2015. I have a learnt how to switch off the alarm so that I can lock the car with the tailgate up (have dogs in cage). However it seems that if the tailgate is pushed down, the car unlocks itself which I don't want. Is there any way to prevent this? Also, would it then revert back to being in alarm mode which means I should switch the alarm off again via the windscreen wiper method?
Any advice would be appreciated.
