It can't be that hard, really. I'd assume he has them tied in with his DRL's, so he just tapped the power to those and so any time the car fires up the DRL's it turns on the LEDs automatically.

Hi Burtonrider, you are probably correct but here in the uk DRL'S only became compulsary in 2012 i think it was, mine is a 09 so does not have these.

so i'm hoping he has connected them to something else or i will have to be looking for another live to connect them to, thinking about installing an on/off switch in the cabin too, so i can switch them off when my main lights are on or when i'm parked up

As for wiring, I just used 4 vampire joints to tap into existing DRL wires, and removed DRL bulbs.

It will be like that until I install AFS (side lighting system) in segments DRLs were located before.
