Question Looking for opinion before buying...

Hello all;
I'm thinking of replacing my Mazda CX-9 ( 2009) with an Outlander..
Anyone care to share their thoughts on the Outlander ???
I'm looking at the 2014 Outlander GT Limited Edition S-AWC, 58K Km ( about 36K Miles) for 25K CAD.
How will this car compare to CX-9 ??? I'm particularly interested in cargo space. Also - the engine seems to be on the low horse power side.. - is it enough for this car ??
Any good replays will be appreciated.

Thanks

I think you can get a 2016 at 0% Interest with full warranty. I have a 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS for the price it gave me the most bang for my buck and a better warranty than Mazda.

The outlander has generous cargo space for it's size thanks to the low load floor, i think only the rav4 competes.

However, the CX9 is a much larger vehicle, and if you're getting the GT, you won't get much better fuel economy.

Not trying to be a smartass but, there are probably 3 people in the world who have owned both the CX9 and an Outlander GT as they are both low volume, obscure vehicles. Opposed to people who have owned a Rav4 and a CRV. From rough memory doing research, the CX9 is a bigger class of vehicle so "enough" cargo room is relative to your perspective. Also as far as "enough" power, depends on what you're doing. For family use around town, it's probably excessive. If hauling 7 adults up mountains with cargo and a trailer, probably underpowered. Unfortunately I cannot compare firsthand. Edmunds and cars.com have reviews and full specs for past year vehicles. That's where i would go as a starting point since there probably aren't a ton of people who have owned both cars. Sorry couldn't be more helpful.

I checked both CX-9 and Outlander back to 2007 (and ended up getting a Suzuki XL7). They were not in the same category. So unless you want to down-size, I do not think Outlander is a direct replacement.

I bought my 2016 Outlander to replace my old CR-V, and planned to get a Honda Pilot to replace the XL7. But then we realized we do not really need a big 7-passenger vehicle since most times we only have 3 people in the house. So we traded in the XL7.
