Default Mirror/rear window auto defogging

Did anyone notice auto-on feature of Mirror/rear window defogging?

When I start the engine in the cold morning, or after car being parked outside and the temperature dropped, defogging goes on automatically.

But not sure whether it was working that way always, or I enabled it somehow.

Not cold enough here-yet. Frost warnings out for this week here in Wisconsin.

Actually in is not about the frost, it kicked in at +15 Celsius

Isn't that set when you hold down the heated mirrors/rear window button for a period of time? Just like how A/C is configured to come on/off when switched to the windshield position.

I don't recall anything about auto defogger in that part of a owner's manual...
But will check it.

Still don't know how to turn on the heated mirrors on an outi gt 2012' any guess?

They should come on with the heated backlight (rear window). I'll check the owners manual and get back to you.

Just looked in the manual.

Mirror heaters come on when the rear defrost is pushed. Heating elements in the mirror glass will turn off after 20 min.

Default Install heated mirrors.

Does anyone knows if it;s possible to install the heated side mirros on an outlander 2012?

Please let me know.
