EDIT: Of course, I only talking about the OEM remote start.

But does anyone has some kind of manual about "how to use the remote start" or its features?
Have you installed the remote starter kit or you just got the remote fob ONLY? if you have the fob only, it is guarantee not gonna work.

Features are really simple to function:
1) to start engine - press the 3rd button once to initiate, then you'll see the red light on top blinking for a few seconds, while blinking, press the 1st button once to start engine.

2) to turn off engine - press the 3rd button once to initiate, then while blinking, press the 2nd button once to turn off engine.

that's it. hope it helps

Installed the remote starter kit

Thanks for your reply but I was more looking for something that tells everything about it. Like what you shouldn't do with it, when it shouldn't work and that would be normal, so that I don't have to worry everytime something "weird" happens and I have to wonder if it is my car's problem or if it is part of the remote start functions.

Guess I have to go on a case-by-case basis

No problem, try a few of your local dealers for the manual, parts department. as far as i know, the new Outie from 11 or maybe 12 won't come with these starters any more, like the new Outie Sport, they equip with brand new way better remote starters....so i guess, our Outie will come with something new very much like the Sport's starter....good luck

if yes:
1) when using it to start engine, does the hazard light flash/blink once when engine starts like the starter manual claims? or What indication does your car react once engine starts (lights, sounds)?

2) how many of this OEM remote starter fobs come with it? (each car comes 2 F.A.S.T. keys)

3) what is the design/average distance for the remote to start respectively with and without the little antenna stretch out?

4) which market/country is your Outlander in, year model and trim?

thanks a lot for your inputs

Just installed a Mitsubishi OEM Remote Starter for 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander. This post is old post but maybe help other

1) when using it to start the engine, does the hazard light flash/blink once when the engine starts like the starter manual claims? or What indication does your car react once the engine starts (lights, sounds)?

*** It does not have the hazard light flash/blink once when the engine starts. The Outlander is started, daylight is on and no sound or beep ***

2) how many of this OEM remote starter fobs come with it? (each car comes 2 F.A.S.T. keys)

*** Only 1 OEM remote starter fob come with it. Just one! ***

3) what is the design/average distance for the remote to start respectively with and without the little antenna stretch out?

*** Radius: close to 500 feet ***

4) which market/country is your Outlander in, year model and trim?

*** Toronto, Ontario, Canada. 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander GT S-AWC Top of the Line, less Navigation Package ***

Out of curiosity, since I have no real need, just a potential novelty install...

How much was the system? Did you install yourself? If so, PIA or relatively easy? Why do you keep the standard fast key attached if the remote starter has an lock/unlock?

I had an aftermarket remote starter on a past car. Since it was aftermarket, it was a huge pain for the installer. I saw all of the wire splicing needed. Wondering if an OEM remote starter would just be a plug in module or the same multiple splicing install.

It's 757 CAD + dealer labour https://www.mitsubishi-motors.ca/en/...16/accessories

Switch lock on the remote control is for prevention of unexpected transmission in trouser pocket, handbag and so on.... Still needed F.A.S.T key to lock/unlock doors

1.30.25 - Not sure I’m typing in the right place.
I have a 2016 Mitsubishi outlander sport. I’ve been having issues using my remote starter fob and starting my car. Lately it only works when I’m inside my car (which defeats the purpose of having it). If I’m standing 3 feet away or more, it will not start.

Last year my car’s battery was on its last leg before I looked and got it replaced. This remote starter issue started before I replaced my cars battery. So I thought replacing the cars battery would fix the issue, however it did not.

Since the remote starter does turn on when I’m in the car, it makes me think there is an issue with transmitting from the remote to the starter.

Can someone please help me?

Have you tried replacing the battery in the remote?

Yes. I had replaced them before I replaced the car battery, and replaced them again when it still was doing the same.
