MMCS Aux In.
Hi folks,
New outlander driver here needing a little bit of help!!
So I have the Elegance model, with Sat Nav MMCS.
My question is about the Aux In. To access it, I have to open the head unit, as if I was wanting to put a CD in. Surely there is a better way to connect the iPod to the car? I can't drive with that open all the time! Also, is there a special cable needed? I previously had my iPod connected to my Mondeo, using a regular 3.5mm jack. Should this work in the Outlander?
Hope this makes some kind of sense and I'm not just being stupid about it all!! I'm sure there is some incredibly simple solution to it.
Thanks in advance
Hutchy

The socket is where you insert a special key when you are updating the Navi data from a DVD(only for this).

I think you can use an adaptor like this directly to the MMCS

The other (and easy) way is to connect your ipod with the rca connectors in the middle armrest.

You either can use the AUX inputs that are in the bottom of the center console that faces the rear seats (not all models have this though). Or you can order the ipod adaptor that can be hooked up to the back of the MMCS or other head unit. The ipod adapter then has a cord that feeds to the center console.
And yes, the port that is on the bottom of the nav screen is not for the ipod, it is for a key that is used to update the MMCS and/or maps
